Friday night conversation with my grandmother. She starts:

How's your Hattie Mae cat gettin' along?

She'll be 20 this year.

Twenty! Twenty years old?!

Yep. She's spunky but she's deaf as a door knob.

She's what?

She's DEAF.

I've never heard of a cat that likes to get wet.

D-E-A-F. She can't hear.

Oh. Well, I feel for her. [Mamaw nods her head.] You should use that in your campaign.

How?

"I've kept a cat happy for 20 years, and you'll be happy too."
